DIRT TRACK
Omar's dirt track fenders, tanks and other parts are popular with vintage dirt track racers. Our literature says our non-DOT approved tanks are for racing and off-road use only but some customers have ignored this warning and have converted their street bikes to a dirt track look. Fenders (tail pieces with seat cushion) are made of thicker fiberglass to resist crashes. Omar's tanks are also stronger and are made with VRSâ„¢ Isothalic resin which resists the resin-dissolving effect of oxygenated (alcohol) fuels. Even though 'resistant', we recommend gasohol not be used in any fiberglass tank. All fiberglass tanks and fenders come to you with an unpainted white gelcoat surface. Fiberglass tanks are not DOT approved for highway use.

Omar's largest volume Champion tank-about 1 1/2 gallons. Fits narrow frame bikes including a 650 Yamaha (if you remove the elephant ear cups). If using a small tank on a 650-order a narrow fender. This tank is made from a three-part mold and will show the mold lines-you may have to do a little body work before the normal prime/paint process. Tank mounts with front and rear tabs-my instructions will show different mounting techniques. Tank comes with non-rusting chrome filler neck (just like all our tanks), a gas cap with check valve and pet cocks. Here's a perfect tank for SR/TT/XT Yamahas, HD Sprints and whatever else you want it on. It's fairly spacious and has almost a 2 gallon capacity. It has a large channel and fits over frames that are up to 3" wide. Yes, you can get to the oil filler cap on 500 Yamahas. Omar's own styling based on the Harley XR. Center mount. Comes with a vented gas tank cap, tank mounted pet cocks and a center mount kit. Specs-18" long, 9.5" wide at widest point. 5.75" wide at rear and it's 6" tall.

The XRWS is for use with stock 650 tanks. This photo is the original gray covered pattern before finish sanding and polishing. The final fender will come in white gelcoat. This is not just another Champion fender! It is a © 2004 copyrighted Omar redesign. The first thing you'll notice is the seat cushion is longer and lower in the rear than the original. Original Champions had a tendency to slide your crotch forward into the back of the tank. This was/is 'mildly distracting' as Champion owners know too well. Our cushion allows you to move around. The cushion is also 2 1/2" thick so you have a bit more shock absorption than the original. Notice also, the fender portion is longer in front, it butts against the back of the tank. Originals left a gap between tank and seat which meant you had to build a mounting strap to catch the rear tank mount bolt. Our fender actually goes under the tank and shares the rear tank mount bolt for mounting. And the last bit of uniqueness is there is no gap between the rear frame loop and the fender. Many copies of the original have a big gap here and it looks really bad! Omar's glass is thicker so it will survive more crashes than the flimsy Champion copies out there. Cushion foam is high quality and molded from single foam block, not scrap foam bits like others. It is covered with a heavy weight vinyl and has a textured Street Fighter top. Sexy, all fiberglass side number panels have a 1/2" rolled edge for a finished look. Leading portion is angled in to follow fender shape and to allow clearance for shocks. Mounts with elevator bolts bonded to back side. 3Ds on red Honda were notched for air cleaners.
The front end of Street Trackers can look a bit naked. Fork guards and a fork brace help complete the look. This billet aluminum brace made by an ice tracker friend are machined to fit the 650 Yamaha fork sliders. It will really tighten up your front end handling. They look absolutely wonderful.
Replace OEM plastic (can you say wobble) bushings from a bronze alloy. Won't rust like needle bearings. Fits many Yamaha models – DS7, R5, RD, XS, DT, MX and RT.
